Terms of Use

1. Scope and beta status

TripSake is a free, non-commercial service in a testing and development phase (“beta”). By using it you agree to these terms. There is no entitlement to availability, to particular features, or to permanent storage of your data; the app may be changed or discontinued at any time. These terms are provided in English, which is also the language of the service.

2. Price

TripSake is currently free of charge in full. There is no paid tier, no subscription and no in-app purchase, and we will not start charging for features you are already using without telling you first. Should we introduce paid features in the future, we will state the price, the billing period and the renewal terms clearly before you commit to anything, and you will keep whatever statutory withdrawal rights apply. Costs your own network operator or the providers you book with charge you are not ours.

3. Minimum age

You must be at least 16 years old to use TripSake, including as an invited guest. If you are under 16, please do not create an account and do not join a trip. We delete accounts we become aware of that belong to children below this age.

4. Account

You sign in by email or join as a guest via an invite link. You are responsible for keeping your access confidential. Accounts may be blocked without prior notice in the event of misuse.

5. Your content

Content you upload (photos, documents, notes) remains yours. You grant us only the technical right to store this content and display it to the members of your trip; we do not use it for any other purpose and we do not use it to train AI models. You warrant that your content does not infringe third-party rights — in particular with photos of other people and when importing third-party social media content.

A trip is a shared space. Anything you add is visible to the other members of that trip, and content you contributed may remain in the trip, with your authorship removed, after you delete your account.

6. Prohibited use

• unlawful, insulting or youth-endangering content,
• interfering with the security or operation of the platform,
• automated extraction (scraping) or bulk requests,
• passing invite links to uninvolved third parties with intent to deceive,
• uploading content you have no right to share, or using the import features in breach of the terms of the platform you import from.

7. Reporting content, and what we do about it

Anyone can report content they consider illegal by email to info@tripsake.app; the details we need are listed in the imprint. We review reports diligently and objectively. If content breaches these terms or the law, we may remove it, restrict its visibility, or suspend or terminate the account behind it — proportionately to the breach. We inform the affected user of the decision and the reason for it, unless the law prevents us from doing so, and they can object by replying to that notice. Rights holders can find our copyright and DMCA contact in the imprint.

8. AI features and third-party data

TripSake uses AI to extract information (for example from booking PDFs or shared links) and to generate suggestions such as day plans, packing lists and destination tips. Features that do this are labelled in the interface. AI output, as well as map, weather and place data from third parties, can be wrong, outdated or incomplete. Always verify anything that matters for your trip — times, addresses, prices, entry requirements, opening hours — yourself; the information provided by the respective operator or authority is what counts. AI suggestions are not advice, and no legal, medical, financial or travel-safety advice is given.

9. Liability

We are liable without limitation in cases of intent, gross negligence, and for injury to life, body or health. Otherwise liability is excluded as far as legally permissible, as this is a service provided free of charge in a testing phase. In particular we accept no liability for data loss, missed bookings, or the consequences of incorrect travel information. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under mandatory consumer law.

10. Privacy

Information on the processing of personal data can be found in our privacy policy.

11. Termination

You can stop using TripSake at any time and delete your account, including your personal data, at delete TripSake account. We may terminate or suspend access for a material breach of these terms, or if we discontinue the service.

12. Final provisions

German law applies. If you are a consumer resident in the EU, this does not deprive you of the protection of the mandatory law of your country of residence. Should individual provisions be invalid, the validity of the remaining provisions is unaffected. We may amend these terms with effect for the future; the current version is always available in the app, and we will point out significant changes.
