Honest comparison
A Wanderlog alternative where offline and dark mode are not the paid tier
Wanderlog is the most complete free trip planner most people find. Then they try to use it on a plane, or in the dark, and discover which parts were never free.
Where Wanderlog is still the better answer
Wanderlog has been at this far longer than we have, and it shows in the places that take years: a huge library of public itineraries, road-trip routing and a genuinely mature mobile app. If you plan long driving trips, it is ahead of us.
- An enormous catalogue of public itineraries to start from. Ours is small.
- Road-trip and multi-stop driving routing is more developed.
- Native apps with years of polish behind them.
- Hotel and flight price comparison built in, which we do not do at all.

Moving a plan over
- Create the trip with the same dates and city.
- Paste the reels or links you saved. Named places resolve to real spots automatically.
- Anything already in Wanderlog, add by searching the place name — it takes a few minutes for a weekend.
- Send the invite link. Your friends do not need to install anything to see it.
For a long road trip with a driver and a copilot, Wanderlog is ahead. For a group of five arguing about a city weekend, the things Wanderlog charges for or does not have — offline, voting, splitting, joining without an account — are the whole job.
Common questions
Before you switch
Is offline mode really free in TripSake?
Yes. The plan, the places and the map cache on the device. Offline is treated as the normal condition of a trip, not an upgrade.
Can I import a Wanderlog itinerary?
Not directly. You add the places by name, or paste the reels and links they came from originally, which is usually faster than it sounds.
Does TripSake do flight and hotel price comparison?
No. Wanderlog does that and we do not. We hold the bookings you already made, in a vault the whole group can see.
What does TripSake do that Wanderlog does not?
Three things: it builds the plan from TikTok and Instagram links, it votes as a group inside the trip, and it lets guests join by link with no account or install.
Will TripSake add a paid tier later?
Possibly, but not by paywalling planning. If we charge, it will be for keepsakes like a printed trip book, not for offline or dark mode.
